Davis Family Reunion 2025

 Mama Dennie & Papa left Alabama after being unable to find coal mining jobs. So, they along with their 2 children, my Grandpa & Grandma & all of Mama Dennie’s 5 siblings decided to relocate to the coal mines of West Virginia & Kentucky. In the meantime, they became parents of another 13 children during these moves. Their last move was on Goodlowe Hill in Williamson. They bought two small houses side by side & I have been told the boys had to sleep in one & the girls in the other.  We were all raised to do gardening, cooking & cleaning. In fact, I remember that my niece & nephews that was raised by Mama & Papa also had to help make a fire in the coal stove & cook breakfast before we went to school.
I must mention that most of my siblings had moved out, married or joined the Army by  the time that I was born (late comer).  I do remember that we were all really happy when we were able to get together as a family. “ You can find out many more details if you attend the reunion."
